DEACON'S BEACON

THOUGHTS, INSPIRATIONS AND MORE FROM DEACON DORI

April 5, 2020: I worshiped outside today, watching the palms swaying as I listened to Joyce play the organ at Cristus Victor.

My mind went back a couple of years to our last Palm Sunday in the Winkler building. We had our palm fronds, and we walked around the sanctuary singing. Last Palm Sunday we carried big palm fronds and marched around the Education building of the Theatre, singing and enjoying each other, and causing a bit of a spectacle on First Street!

Then we come to this year. No crowds, but it is still Palm Sunday! The hallelujah's are quieter, but they are still sung! Christ will come, no matter what!

We have extra time on our hands this week to contemplate holy week and focus on Easter. It will be a different Easter, but it IS Easter, and we have cause to celebrate!

I pray that each of you are able to take some time this week and think, study, and pray. Find the peace and hope that Easter brings us! My love to you all!
